Patch reached out to candidates for office to get more information on their campaigns and the issues that are facing their towns.

Occupation: Marketing & Sales, Retired for past 4 years
Family: Son Kevin and his wife Kate, Newtown residents. two girls, Claire and Megan, boy Jack. Youngest son Patrick is a proud father of son Noah (1 yr old)
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? no relative involved in government
Previous public office, appointive or elective: I have been a ward voting administrator, Westborough Massachusetts for 10 years
Why are you seeking this office? I have already served on the Newtown ZBA board for two years and was interested in arbitrating issues involved with homeowner placement of property and agreement with town regulations.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: Proper placement of structures and fence lines in accordance with town mandates. Focus on making the correct decision which meets home owner plans and Newtown requirements.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? I believe two years of ZBA experience and 50 years owning houses in three other states.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign? In addition to property and boundry plans we need to pay close attention to nature and the environment.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? 50 years of home ownership in four states. Two years of ZBA experience in Newtown.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you? Listen, reflect and consider all issues, do not make a snap judgement.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions? I have always enjoyed providing a service to people and communities.
