Previous public office, appointive or elective: I have been appointed to Newtown Economic Development Commission 2014-2019, CH Booth Library Board of Trustees 2015- 2019.
I was elected to Newtown Board of Finance 2019-2021, Newtown Legislative Council 2021-2023
Why are you seeking this office? I want to continue to serve the community that has become my home by giving back through civic volunteerism. I enjoyed my time on the Board of Finance and Legislative Council previously and feel that my insight and dedication to the boards helped create good governance.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is local taxes, and in the past, I have asked the tough questions of the town departments about their budget requests to ensure the Town is making good use of its resident's tax money and not over taxing or spending wastefully.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? I feel as my experience both on the Board of Finance and the Legislative Council gives me a perspective that none of the other candidates have.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign? Responsible development and public safety
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? During both my time on the Board of Finance and the Legislative Council I worked with fellow board members to ensure that budget requests and capital expenditures were fiscally responsible.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you? Listen more than you talk.
