Portable Heater Causes Sandy Hook House Fire: Report

Sandy Hook residents called 911 to report a burning smell before discovering their house was on fire. BREAKING

SANDY HOOK, CT — A Sandy Hook home that caught fire on Tuesday was quickly extinguished by Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, the News Times reported. Officials said the blaze was most likely caused by a portable heater that caught fire in a rear bedroom of a raised ranch on Sunnyview Terrace, across the street from the firehouse.
