Scarecrows To Return To Fairfield Hills For Newtown’s Annual October Contest
Newtown's 6th Annual Scarecrow Contest returns to Fairfield Hills this October with voting Oct. 25-30.

NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown Parks and Recreation is inviting residents, businesses, and community groups to take part in its 6th Annual Scarecrow Contest at Fairfield Hills this October.
Participants may adopt a lamp post on the property, on a first-come, first-served basis, and decorate it with a handmade scarecrow. Registration is open through Oct. 24 at the Parks and Recreation office at 8 Simpson Street.
Scarecrows can be installed between Oct. 1 and Oct. 24. Online voting for favorites will run Oct. 25-30, with the winner announced Oct. 31. Voting links will be shared by email and posted on the department’s Facebook page. Only one vote per person will be counted.
