State and local road crews are making "significant progress" in their clean-up across the Newtown roadways.

NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Police Department is reporting that State and Local road crews are making "significant progress" in their clean-up following this past weekend's record-setting storm and flooding.

Residents commuting to other towns will find that Route 6 at the Southbury/Woodbury line has been re-opened and is one lane, alternating traffic. Motorists may expect prolonged closures of sections of Route 34, Route 6, and Route 67 in Southbury, Oxford, Monroe and into the Valley, police officials said on social media.
