NEWTOWN, CT — Thursday might's storm uprooted a dead tree, damaging one Newtown home, Botsford Fire Rescue officials reported on social media.

The falling tree shattered on impact, causing "significant damage to the roof and soffit / eave."

The home was occupied at the time, but no one was injured, according to the firefighters, who were able to shore up the damaged roof using Paratech HydraFusion struts.
