Tractor Supply Company Announces Grand Opening Date In Newtown

The store is holding a four-day grand opening event.

NEWTOWN, CT — Following months of construction, Tractor Supply Company's opening is less that two weeks away in Newtown. The company announced Monday it will hold its a grand opening event from Sept. 21-24, with a kickoff event.

Back in March, the company broke ground on its nearly 20,000-square foot retail facility on Rte. 25 at 116 South Main St. Customers will receive a ten percent discount on all purchases during the four-day kick off event.

On Sept. 23, The local SPCA will be holding dog adoptions and the Newtown Bridle Land association will be on hand and local fire companies will be onsite with their trucks and equipment. On Sept. 25, it will keep normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“At Tractor Supply we understand the value of community, which is why we made it a priority to build a team with deep roots in Newtown,” said store manager Brenda Borromeo in a prepared statement. “Our team members live the same lifestyle as our customers, and we’re excited to supply them with the tools, information and resources they need to live life on their own terms.”

The store plans to hire 12-15 employees with expertise in pets, livestock and land. The store also seeks to support pet adoption initiatives, 4-h and FFA, county fairs and livestock shows. It was constructed by Brian Gesell of Newtown.

The store hopes to serve the community's farmers, livestock and pet owners, ranchers, part-time and hobby farmers, gardeners, homeowners, tradesmen and more. Tractor Supply Company operates over 1,500 stores in 49 states.
