UPDATE: Newtown Woman Killed After Deer Crashes Into Windshield
The woman seriously injured when a deer crashed through her windshield last week has died from her injuries, according to police.
NEWTOWN, CT — The woman who was hospitalized following a deer crashing through her windshield last week on Route 59 in Easton near Sherwood Drive has succumbed to her injuries.
Erin Heneghan, 47, of Newtown, was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital on Nov. 21.
Last Monday, the deer entered the passenger compartment of Heneghan's 2015 Honda Pilot, went through the driver’s side windshield, struck the driver, continued through the interior and was ejected from the vehicle through the rear window.

Heneghan had to be extricated from vehicle following the 9 a.m. crash, according to Easton Police Chief Richard Doyle.
The investigation is ongoing, Doyle said.
