Wethersfield Man Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash in Newtown

NEWTOWN, CT — A Wethersfield man sustained injuries Monday night after his vehicle crashed into a traffic control box at a busy intersection, authorities said.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:22 p.m. on March 3 at the intersection of Church Hill Road, Riverside Road, Glenn Road, and Washington Avenue. According to police, a 2000 Honda Accord, traveling eastbound on Church Hill Road, attempted a U-turn at the intersection when it accelerated into the turn and struck a traffic control box on the corner of Church Hill Road and Washington Avenue.
The driver, identified as 39-year-old Johnathan Daniel Robledo of Wolcott Hill Road, suffered a suspected serious leg injury. He was taken by Newtown Ambulance to Danbury Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage, and all front airbags deployed. Due to its disabling condition, the car was towed to Modzelewski's Towing.
Authorities reported that the traffic control box sustained heavy damage as a result of the crash.

New York Man Faces Protective Order, Release Condition Violations in Newtown
A New York resident turned himself in to Newtown police on Friday in connection with multiple violations of a protective order and conditions of release, authorities said.
Daniel M. Morris, 39, of Bernhart Road in Wallkill, reported to the Newtown Police Department around 2:06 p.m. on March 7 after a warrant was issued for his detention. Police charged him with four counts of violating a protective order and one count of violating conditions of release.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Feb. 24 on Hanover Road, according to police.
Morris was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled for a court hearing on March 10 at Danbury Superior Court.
Danbury Woman Taken into Custody for Failure to Appear Following Traffic Stop
A Danbury woman was taken into custody Thursday after a routine traffic stop led officers to discover an outstanding warrant, authorities said.
Newtown police stopped a vehicle on March 6 near the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Road and Diamond Drive after noticing it had an expired registration. The driver, identified as Lissandra Sanchez-Polanco, 32, of Rocky Glen Road, was found to have an active warrant for failing to appear in court.
Sanchez-Polanco was charged with second-degree failure to appear. She posted a 10 percent cash bond of $250 and was released. She is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on March 20 at 9:30 a.m.
Bridgeport Man Taken into Custody on Multiple Probation Violation Charges
A Bridgeport man was taken into custody at Danbury Superior Court on Wednesday in connection with multiple probation violations, authorities said.
Court employees contacted Newtown police on March 5 to report that Glenn R. London, 61, of Pleasant View Road, was being held in the courthouse holding area for five separate violations of probation.
London was processed on the charges and remained in custody pending his scheduled court appearance on March 6 at Danbury Superior Court.
