Why Does Burgerittoville Offer Free Fries In The Rain?

The rain starts as I walk into Burgerittoville in Newtown. I catch the sign on the wall reminding me fries here are free when it's raining.

Amy Rebecco of the Newtown location says her husband Joe, Burgerittoville's founder, came up with the idea. She says customers love being able to get free fries on rainy or snowy days.

"Rainy days used to be our slowest days here, so we thought we'd try this promotion," she says." Now they've become one of our busiest times."

As I grab lunch, Burgerittoville quickly fills. Regulars know what to expect, but some newcomers get a pleasant surprise when they're told their fries will be free.
