Brewery Plans 2nd Location In Noted Northford Spot

A popular brewery is planning to open a second location at the site of a former brewery in Northford.

NORTHFORD, CT — Kent Falls Brewing Company is planning to open a second location in Northford. The new brewery will be at 418 Forest Road, according to an Instagram post from Kent Falls.

The location "will offer the familiar surroundings of a farmhouse turned brewery while creating a full taproom experience of enjoying full pours of our beer, Connecticut wine and cider as alternatives, food trucks, events and more," according to the post.

The opening is being celebrated with a special batch dubbed "Buddy Sprinkles Goes To Northford." The beer is "hopped with a brand new USDA variety named Vera, and the most recent crop of Galaxy hops from Australia. We get strong tropical, candy like character with some piney resinous notes to finish."

The location is the former site of Stewards of the Land Brewery, according to Hearst Connecticut Media. That brewery announced in March that it would not reopen after closing for the season in December.

Unfortunately, Stewards of The Land isn't the only brewery that's closed in recent months. In May, Thimble Island Brewing Company announced it would close its Branford location. Also earlier this year, Stubborn Beauty Brewing closed its doors in Middletown.

In December, Great Falls Brewing Company in North Canaan said it would close at the end of 2024.
