North Branford Police Sgt. Witnessed Crash, Provided Life-Saving Care

After the crash, Police Sgt. Brian Hannon forced entry into the vehicle and immediately began life-saving emergency care, police said.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Late Tuesday morning, North Branford Sergeant Brian Hannon saw a vehicle traveling south on Forest Road drift toward the shoulder and collide with the guardrail at the intersection of Forest and Mill roads.

Once he got to the vehicle, he found the driver "unresponsive and suffering from a medical emergency."

As police noted on Facebook, "Sergeant Hannon forced entry into the vehicle and immediately began life-saving emergency care until the North Branford Fire Department arrived on scene."

Fire department personnel provided advanced life-saving treatment and the driver was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital.

"At this time, the operator’s condition remains unknown, and their identity will not be released until the family has been notified," police said.
