• Youth Ice Hockey Parent, Coach From RI Arrested After Fight In North Branford Rink: NBPD (patch.com) — North Branford police say a youth hockey game at Northford Ice Pavilion ended with a hallway argument over a child’s playing time that escalated into a physical fight. Two Rhode Island men, a parent and a coach, were charged with second-degree breach of peace, and police emphasized their zero-tolerance stance on altercations at youth sporting events. 
• Regional Water Authority Awards Fire Department $1K Grant For New Multi-Gas Meter (patch.com) — North Branford residents will see their fire department gain a new multi-gas meter, funded by a $1,000 Regional Water Authority grant. Fire officials say the handheld device will help detect hazardous gases during fires and emergencies, part of a broader RWA program supporting local first responders.
