Chief: North Branford Cops ‘Should Not Be Sharing’ Patrol Rifles
Newly appointed police chief Kevin Halloran was alarmed when he found out that not every police office has his or her own patrol rifle.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT - Newly appointed North Branford police chief Kevin Halloran continues to make changes as he takes over the reins of the department.
First Halloran, the former police chief in Branford, moved to buy a drone so the department could pursue those tearing up North Branford fields without subjecting police department police cars to damage.
Now, the police chief has made a move to make sure each officer is properly equipped with weaponry.

At the most recent Police Commission meeting, Halloran said that one of the first things he learned on the job was that patrol officers "were sharing patrol rifles."
He termed that a "little scary," stating that ideally each officer would have his or her own rifle.

Hallran said that rifles "should not be shared amongst officers."
The commissioners agreed with Halloran and approved the expenditure of not more than $15,000 to buy rifles for the officers'.
