3 Teens Caught Breaking Into Vehicles In North Haven: Police

Three teens, ages 14 to 18, were arrested after police said they were trying to break into vehicles Friday afternoon in North Haven.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Three teens were caught breaking into vehicles Friday afternoon in North Haven, according to police.

Police responded around 3:45 p.m. on May 9 to Universal Drive near Friendly’s on the report of several juveniles trying to break into vehicles.

Responding officers found three suspects near Best Buy, according to police.

“After initial contact was made a male juvenile took off running and was later apprehended after a brief foot pursuit,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Two females were detained prior to them being able to flee. All three were found to be in possession of screwdrivers and/or USB drives, as well as a stolen pocketbook from one of the burglarized vehicles.”

All three suspects were arrested and taken to North Haven Police headquarters, according to police.

Police said two of the arrestees are juveniles (16 and 14 years old) and the third suspect was newly turned 18-year-old Madison Robinson.

The three suspects were charged with various crimes including criminal attempt to commit larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, larceny, possession of burglary tools and interfering, according to police.
