'Academic Success, Active In Community': North Haven Star Student

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Mister Rose who nominated his son Raj, of North Haven.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Raj is a high honor roll student at North Haven Middle School. He has been academically successful reaching the high honor roll each quarter. He is also in the school band which requires much practice. Outside of school, he is active in Town sports. Currently he is on a great baseball team. This also requires much time for practice. Outside of sports and school, Raj can be found volunteering at Church or assisting his elderly neighbors. For these reasons, I am nominating Raj as a local Star.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

That Raj is able to remain on the high honor roll even after being so active in his community through sports and volunteering his time to help others.
