Body Recovered From River Identified: North Haven Police

Kayakers reported finding a body in a river in North Haven, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The body recovered from the Quinnipiac River in North Haven on Saturday, Sept. 27, has been identified as Joel Auguste, 32, of Shelton, North Haven police said in an update on Monday night.

Kayakers reported finding a body in the Quinnipiac River. Officers responded, and the Connecticut State Police Dive Team assisted with the recovery, police said.

“We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” North Haven police said. “While there are no overt signs of foul play, this investigation remains ongoing, and we will continue to work with the [Office of the Chief Medical Examiner] and Shelton PD.
