Commercial Van Bursts Into Flames, North Haven Fire Department Says

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The North Haven Fire Department said units have cleared the scene of a fully involved commercial van fire on Route 40 just prior to Exit 1.

The highway was shutdown westbound for approximately 30 minutes due to the fire from the vehicle, officials said. There were no injuries and the road is now fully open.

Engine 1 and Engine 7 operated along with Car 2. State Police and local police provided support on scene. The fire remains under investigation by the North Haven Fire Marshal's office.
