Driver Arrested After Trying To Elude Police: North Haven PD
Police responded to a report of several vehicles doing donuts and burnouts in North Haven, according to officials.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A 21-year-old Manchester man was arrested on several motor vehicle charges after trying to flee from police early Saturday morning in North Haven.
Patrol officers responded around 1:30 a.m. on May 3 to Universal Drive near BJ’s Wholesale on the report of multiple vehicles doing donuts and burnouts, according to police.
“Upon arrival officers observed numerous vehicles, which scattered when they saw we were coming to say hello,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “One vehicle in particular, a black Jetta, was observed traveling at a high rate of speed, with no lights on, illegally passing vehicles. Officers were able to obtain a license plate on the vehicle, and obtained owner information. A short time later we caught up with the owner, who admitted to being the driver. They were subsequently taken into custody.”

The driver was charged with failure to have lights lit and devices illuminated, reckless driving and failing to stop when signaled / disobeying direction of officer.
