Man Accused Of Public Indecency At Library: North Haven Police

Police said the man was arrested after an "unfortunate, isolated incident" at the library.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven man is accused of public indecency at the North Haven Memorial Library, according to police.

Police responded to the library on Tuesday, Aug. 12, on reports of “indecent behavior” by a person, officials said.

“We are pleased to inform the community that the suspect was swiftly located, identified, and arrested,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “This successful outcome was achieved because of the quick efforts of the library staff, witnesses / patrons, and responding officers.

“We want to reassure everyone: this was an unfortunate, isolated incident. The safety and well-being of all patrons—especially children—remains a top priority of the Police Department and Library. We are deeply grateful to the individual(s) who called to alert us—your quick action helped ensure a fast and safe resolution. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated library staff, whose vigilance and professionalism were vital in keeping this space secure.”

Donnie Brown, 47, was arrested and charged with public indecency and breach of peace.
