The man was arrested Thursday on a warrant, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven man is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile, according to police.

Police launched an investigation in early August after North Haven detectives received a report regarding the sexual assault of a juvenile, officials said.

Following a “comprehensive investigation” that was conducted in collaboration with the Yale Child Study Center and the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, police said detectives secured an arrest warrant for 50-year-old James Morris of North Haven.

Morris was arrested Thursday and charged with four counts of risk of injury to a child, one count of third-degree sexual assault, and three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

“Rather than make arrests, we prefer incidents like this never occur; but until that happens, we are committed to identifying, locating, and arresting as many sexual offenders as possible to protect our community—especially its most vulnerable members,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.
