Man Charged In 3 Armed Robberies In 1 Week In North Haven: Police

Police said the man is accused of robbing three gas stations with a gun in a one-week span in North Haven.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man is accused of robbing three gas stations with a gun in a one-week span in February in North Haven, according to police.

Police said the gas stations were robbed in mid-February by a man who implied he was in the possession of a gun.

Samuel Carmon, 69, was identified as a suspect after detectives worked with other area departments that experienced similar crimes, according to police.

“Information obtained from interviews, supplemented through interagency cooperation and physical evidence, led to the application of three arrest warrants for Carmon for the North Haven robberies,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.

Carmon was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of first-degree robbery, three counts of first-degree threatening with a firearm, two counts of sixth-degree larceny, and one count of fourth-degree larceny.

Carmon, who police said is currently incarcerated for crimes outside of North Haven, was being held in lieu of a $550,000 bond in connection with the North Haven robberies.
