Man Stole ‘Tens Of Thousands’ Of Dollars In High-End Watches In Burglary: North Haven PD
Police said the suspect used a sledgehammer to break through the front door and display cases at a jewelry store in North Haven.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Hartford man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a jewelry store in North Haven over the summer, according to police.
Police responded around 12:50 a.m. on July 15 to a report of a burglary at a jewelry store on Washington Avenue.
Police said a masked suspect forcibly entered the store and stole “tens of thousands of dollars in high-end watches.”

“Surveillance footage showed the suspect using a sledgehammer to break through the front door and display cases before fleeing in a waiting vehicle,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.
Over the course of the investigation, police said forensic evidence was located and collected, ultimately identifying 43-year-old Herman Milton of Hartford as a suspect in the burglary.

“This investigation was a coordinated effort involving multiple surrounding agencies and the State of Connecticut Forensics Laboratory,” police wrote. “As a result of this collaboration, North Haven Police obtained an arrest warrant for Milton.”
Milton was arrested Oct. 14 and charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and first-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of a $90,000 bond.
“This arrest marks a significant step forward in bringing justice to the affected business and maintaining the safety of our community,” police wrote.
