New Police Chief Appointed In North Haven
The North Haven Board of Police Commissioners recently appointed the new chief at a special meeting.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — Deputy Police Chief Andrew Stavrides has been appointed as North Haven’s next police chief, officials announced.
Stavrides will replace outgoing Police Chief Kevin Glenn. Capt. Joseph Wosnyk has also been appointed as the new deputy chief.
Both Stavrides and Wosnyk were unanimously approved by the North Haven Board of Police Commissioners at a special meeting on Aug. 26.

“Our board, our community, and our department are very excited about the new changes in the North Haven Police Department,” Chairman Larry Lazaroff said. “Incoming Chief Stavrides and Deputy Chief Woznyk have years of expertise to lead North Haven into the next chapter of law enforcement.”
The board also thanked Glenn for his more than 20 years of service to North Haven and wished him well in his next endeavor, according to a news release.

“I am very pleased with the board’s appointment of Deputy Chief Stavrides and Captain Wosnyk as incoming Chief and Deputy Chief to the Department,” North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda said. “In his new role as Chief, Deputy Chief Stavrides will continue North Haven’s tradition of outstanding service and leadership, ensuring the safety and trust of our community. As second in command, Captain Wosnyk will bring a wealth of law enforcement experience to the position of Deputy Chief. These appointments will continue to strengthen public trust while enforcing the principles of 21st-century law enforcement. I also want to thank outgoing Chief Kevin Glenn for his dedicated, outstanding service and commitment to our community.”
A public swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8th, in front of the North Haven Police Department. All are welcome to attend.
