Occupation:

Retired

Family:
My husband of 32 years is Bob Hannon and we have 4 sons and 8 grandchildren. Our sons Michael and Brian live in North Haven, our son Matt lives in North Branford and our son Greg lives in Langhorne, PA. Our grandchildren range in age from 5 to 19. Four live in Connecticut and the other 4 live in PA.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No but my husband and I have been involved with local politics for many years.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Treasurer, Town of North Haven from 2009-2020; Republican Registrar of Voters from 2020-2023; member of the Board of Finance since 2023

Why are you seeking this office?
I would like to continue to serve the town as a member of the Board of Finance, a position I've held for the past few years. I feel that my experiences of having had a career in the non-profit world provides me with valuable insight for this committee.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
the economy; we look to tighten expenses within the town and to assure that all departments work within their budgets.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have managed extensive budgets and understand how difficult it is to make cuts where and when it's necessary. Listening and learning from our constituents and always being transparent with budget concerns.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

As Vice President of Special Olympics Connecticut, I managed not only the Sports Department staff but all of the budgets needed to run all statewide competitions and events. I have held various volunteer positions over the years running events and knowing how to manage expenses.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Be an active listener.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I truly enjoy being involved with the town of North Haven and serving in this capacity. As the Treasurer of the North Haven Republican Town Committee, I also have a sense of how important it is to get the vote out and to once again manage a financial account.
