NORTH HAVEN, CT — A local man is accused of hitting two people with his vehicle during a road rage incident earlier this month.

Police said the man only left the scene after a family member of one of the victims fired shots at his vehicle.

On Wednesday, police charged Bryan Perrelli, 45, of North Haven, on multiple counts for the July 5 incident.

Police were summoned to the area of Elm Street and Bailey Road around 1:15 a.m., when they found an individual on the ground with leg injuries.

An investigation showed Perrelli had been involved in a road rage incident which continued to Bailey Road, where there was a confrontation, police said.

At that time, Perrelli struck and injured two individuals with his vehicle, according to police.

Police said they reviewed video surveillance footage, which showed Perrelli returned to the residence multiple times.

“One of the victims’ family members, in an attempt to stop Perrelli, retrieved their registered firearm and fired shots at Perrelli’s vehicle, which caused Perrelli to leave the scene,” police said.

Perrelli was charged on a warrant Wednesday with second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree criminal trespass, reckless driving and following too closely.
