North Haven Voters Pass Budget, Tax Hike For Next Fiscal Year

North Haven passed a new budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

NORTH HAVEN--North Haven residents voted Tuesday to adopt a $49.9 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year--along with a tax hike.

The budget includes $43.6 million for the town and $50.8 million for the Board of Education, according to The New Haven Register.

The budget for the next fiscal year is a three percent increase over the current budget, according to the report. That translates to a tax hike for residents. The mill rate will rise from 29.42 to 30.53 mills.

An estimated 15 percent of registered voters cast ballots on Tuesday, The Register reports.
