Obituary: Jeffrey F. Thewlis, 67, of North Haven
Jeff worked as a pharmacist, was a life member of the Wallingford Elk's Lodge #1365, and was also involved in many community organizations.
NORTH HAVEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Jeffrey F. Thewlis, 67, of North Haven, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021. He was the loving husband of Debra J. (Erdos) Thewlis.
Jeff was born November 3, 1953, the son of the late Joseph F. and Dorothy (Green) Thewlis and had been a pharmacist, having worked at Silver’s Pharmacy, Stimpson’s Pharmacy and most recently in the pharmacy of Rite Aid.
He was a 41 year life member of the Wallingford Elk’s Lodge #1365 where he served as Exalted Ruler in 1989/90.
He volunteered on many committees and selflessly gave of his time to activities to benefit the community.
He also served many years as House Committee Chairman in charge of the every day Lodge business and was a mentor to many.
Jeff enjoyed traveling to Aruba every year with Debi and had a great love of all animals.
In addition to his wife Debra, he is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Karen L. and Richard J. Farone, and Robert E. Erdos Jr. and Lori Erdos; nieces and nephews, Justin, Sara, Nicole, Camber, Kristen, Natalie, and Katie; several great nieces and nephews; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert E. Erdos Sr. and Jane Erdos; and his brother-in-law, Thomas F. Erdos.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Saturday, July 10th, from 3 to 5 pm.
An Elk’s Ritual and a funeral service will follow in the funeral home starting at 5pm.
Interment will be private.
