Obituary: Richard “Rick” Rice, 80, formerly of North Haven
Rick worked many years as an iron worker and salesman. He enjoyed fishing, golf, antiquing and spending time with family.
NORTH HAVEN, CT - (From Hamden Memorial Funeral Home) Richard “Rick” Rice, age 80, passed away on March 10, 2022. Rick was born in Hamden, Connecticut on December 2, 1941, the son of Harold and Mary (Marie) (O’Brien) Rice.
Rick graduated from North Haven High School, Class of 1960. He lived much of his life in Branford and spent the later part of his life in Stratford.
Rick was an iron worker and salesman. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and antiquing.
He spent much of his time checking in on the fisherman at Branford Point, looking for tag sales, and refurbishing furniture.
Rick is survived by his six children Jeffrey Rice, Melissa Jarrell (Patton), Wade Rice, Erica Rice, Daniel Rice, and Margaret Reilly (Brendan); three grandchildren Christian Rice, Tess Givens, and Foster Campbell; and sister Joan (Rice) Malone.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 21st from 10-11am and funeral service at 11am at Hamden Memorial Funeral Home. Following the service there will be a procession to Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven where Rick will be interred.
