• North Haven Man Charged In DUI Crash That Injured State Trooper In Wallingford: PD (patch.com) — A North Haven man has been charged after police say he crashed into a state trooper’s cruiser on I-91 North in Wallingford while allegedly driving under the influence. The trooper, who was securing an earlier crash scene, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for evaluation, while the North Haven driver was arrested on multiple charges and released on bond.
   

• Hamden Moves Forward on Long-Awaited Animal Shelter Despite Budget Woes (ctexaminer.com) — Hamden is moving ahead with designing its first-ever town animal shelter, which would finally end its reliance on North Haven’s chronically overcrowded facility. The project, backed by grants, donations and a local group including North Haven residents, is advancing despite Hamden’s budget crunch, with officials hoping to coordinate construction alongside a new fire station.
