A Night at The Pumpkin Patch will be the first of its kind for the community and will feature a pumpkin carving competition with almost 300 jack-o-lanterns. Not only will community members be submitting their pumpkins, but residents and staff at the Landing of North Haven will be participating with their creative carvings as well.

Families from North Haven and surrounding towns are invited to enjoy Halloween from the comfort of their cars due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. A five-dollar donation is suggested. All funds raised will go to the North Haven Rotary to support local non-profits in the area.

“North Haven is a small, tight-knit, family-oriented community,” said Donna Naparstek, sales manager at the Landing of North Haven. “This is our opportunity to pull together and give residents and the community a holiday experience in this new normal we are facing.”

Visitors will be able to drive past Halloween-themed vignettes created by several local businesses. A variety of scenes will feature everything from DC Comics’ strongest superheroes to giant spiders and skeletons holding hands. Each display is a fun family-friendly adventure.

  • The two-day event is scheduled for October 23rd and 24th
  • 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Each vehicle can vote for two of their favorite pumpkins

“COVID-19 has changed the course of many things and has pushed us to think outside the box,” said North Haven Magazine Editor Jill Dechello, who is coordinating the event. “We wanted to create something that supported non-profits while also continuing the Halloween traditions that so many community members were looking forward to.”

This event would not have been possible without the help of sponsors, especially MedicareCT.com, Stay at Home Care, and North Haven Magazine.
