'Wanted Felon' Found At Local Restaurant: North Haven Police
Police said the accused was found in possession of a firearm.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A "wanted felon" was taken into custody in the parking lot of a local restaurant, police said.
At 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, police assisted the Connecticut State Police Violent Crime Task Force, which a North Haven Officer is assigned to, in the apprehension of a "wanted felon," police said.
"The Task Force along with the New Haven Police Criminal Intelligence Unit received information that Edward Casigne was currently at a restaurant on Universal Drive, North Haven," police said in a statement. "It was known to the Task Force members that Casigne had outstanding felony firearm warrants. Members of the Task Force and North Haven PD responded to the area and positively ID’d Casigne within the restaurant. A perimeter was established and Casigne was taken into custody shortly thereafter as he attempted to enter a vehicle in the parking lot. During his arrest Casigne was found in possession of a firearm."

In addition to his outstanding warrants, Casigne was also charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm
- Carrying a Pistol without a Permit
- Weapon in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a High Capacity Magazine
- Risk of Injury to a Minor
"Great work by all the agencies involved in taking this dangerous individual off our streets! We value our partnership with local, state, and federal partners," police said in a statement.
