Woman Caught Shoplifting Nearly $1K Worth Of Items: North Haven Police
Responding to a reported shoplifting-in-progress, police said officers saw a woman running through the parking lot trying to flee the scene.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Milford woman was arrested Saturday after she was caught shoplifting and was found to be in the possession of drugs, according to North Haven police
Officers responded on Jan. 3 to the Universal Drive area on the report of a shoplifting-in-progress.
Police said arriving officers saw a woman running through the parking lot apparently trying to flee the scene. Officers tried to stop and detain her, but she continued to evade police on foot, according to police.

After a brief foot pursuit, police said the woman was apprehended and found to be in possession of various stolen merchandise with an approximate total value of $980. During a search, the woman was also found to be in the possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
The 30-year-old woman was arrested on charges of larceny, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.

“The North Haven Police Department will continue to maintain a strong presence around our local businesses and remains committed to deterring shopliftings and holding offenders accountable,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.
