Employee Assaulted At Distribution Center, Man Arrested: North Haven Police

Police said an employee was assaulted by a third-party employee after a verbal dispute turned physical at the distribution center.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A man is accused of assaulting an employee at a distribution center in North Haven, according to police.

Police said officers responded to a distribution center on Washington Avenue on Dec. 22 on the report of a past assault.

Officers found that an employee had been assaulted by a third-party employee following a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation, according to police.

Police said the victim had been struck beneath the right eye, and the suspect was identified as 53-year-old Christopher Fortes of North Haven.

Fortes was arrested Jan. 5 on a warrant and charged with assault, threatening, and breach of peace.

“The North Haven Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety of our community and workplace environments,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Acts of violence will be thoroughly investigated, and those responsible will be held accountable.”
