Bull's Head Market's 5 BBQ Tips for Guests of All Tastes

With temperatures in Norwalk reaching as high as 86 degrees with a 30 percent chance of rain Friday and Saturday, you and your family may be planning to have guests over for a barbecue.

Sal Santamaria, a cook at Bull's Head Market, had a few tips for what to buy to please every guest.

  1. Pulled ribs and beef ribs are a sure hit because "it's a barbecue and everyone likes ribs, right?" Santamaria said.
  2. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs are staples at any cookout.
  3. Vegetables, such as roasted peppers and corn, make a healthy side dish. Santamaria also suggested onions because they "go well with the ribs."
  4. Grilled chicken is another must, Santamaria said, because "a lot of people love chicken, too."
  5. For vegetarians who want more than a salad, Santamaria suggested picking up a few of Bull's Head's spinach nut burgers. "That's really good," he said. "It's got chick peas and I think walnuts, but if someone is allergic to nuts, you can tell [the Bull's Head employees] you don't want nuts."
Santamaria suggested going to the Bull's Head Market location on Main Street for the widest variety of goods, but there is also a location at 467 West Ave. Call (203) 956-6060 for more information and hours.
