Norwalk Man Charged In Robbery Investigation, Police Say

A 33-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning in Stamford, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — A 33-year-old Norwalk man was arrested in Stamford Thursday morning and charged in connection with a robbery from November, according to police.

Jimmie Springer was charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny.

Assistant Stamford Police Department Chief Richard Conklin told Patch Springer was on parole at the time of his arrest, and he was remanded to custody.

Conklin noted it appears Springer had cut off his parole bracelet.

On Nov. 17 at approximately 9:04 p.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a report of an armed person in the area of the 40-block of Woodward Ave., police said.

"The caller reported that a male was outside with a firearm, threatening individuals, and that a second suspect had stolen money from the complainant. Both suspects fled the area prior to officers' arrival," police said.

"The Norwalk Police Department Detective Bureau assumed the investigation. Through the review of surveillance video and other investigative efforts, Detective Imparato, with assistance from patrol officers, identified one of the suspects as Jimmie Springer."

On Thursday at approximately 10:40 a.m., members of the NPD Special Services Division, along with the Detective Bureau and SPD Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad, found Springer in Stamford and arrested him on a court-issued warrant, police said.

Springer is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 30.

Police said an investigation remains ongoing.
