NORWALK, CT — A driver was extricated from a pickup truck after the vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor trailer on Interstate 95 in Norwalk late Thursday night, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.

When crews arrived, they found the pickup truck had driven into the back of the tractor trailer at full speed, resulting in the front end of the pickup truck becoming completely wedged underneath the back of the trailer, according to Markowitz.
Using a combination of tools, firefighters were able to remove the door to the pickup truck and lift the tractor trailer in order to free the pinned driver, Markowitz said.
