Free Movies and Free Music On the Beach
Here are five things Norwalk residents to need to know for the weekend of July 26-28.

Here are a few things to know about Norwalk from July 26 through 28 to help you plan your weekend. Check out the Patch calendar of events for more things to do.
- The weather: The weekend forecast is predicting highs in the low-80s. Friday and Saturday look to be mostly clear skies, but there's a 50 percent chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms predicted on Sunday.
- Hear some good vibes: The Gathering of the Vibes festival began Thursday and continues through Sunday in Bridgeport. There are bands and activities for the whole family, including hair wraps, a Ferris wheel and arts and crafts, with weekend camping passes priced at $225. Visit the event page for more information.
- Watch a free movie on the beach: There will be a free showing of "Brave" at dusk Saturday at Shady Beach. A karate demonstration will be put on at 7:30 p.m. Bring a picnic and comfortable searing, and see the event page for more details.
- Go to a festival: The St. Ann Italian Feast began Thursday and goes through Sunday at 16 Hendricks Street. Admission is free. There will be rides for children, food and other entertainment all weekend. See the event page for more details.
- See and hear performances on the beach: "Power on the Sound" runs from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at Calf Pasture Beach. There will be free performances by the Norwalk Academy of Dance, Tracey Del Lucia and Déjà vu, among others, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Norwalk's Third Taxing District.
