Grand Opening Announced For New Norwalk BBQ Restaurant

Mighty Quinn's BBQ has announced an opening date for its new Norwalk restaurant, the popular franchise's first location in Connecticut.

NORWALK, CT — Mighty Quinn's BBQ, a popular franchise famous for its brisket and other classic barbecue items, announced this week dates for their new Norwalk location's grand opening and ribbon cutting event.

The opening of the Norwalk restaurant, located at 11 Merwin Street in The Waypointe complex, will kick off Dec. 18 at 3 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Mayor Harry Rilling and the Greater Norwalk Chamber.

The restaurant will then hold its grand opening Dec. 20, according to press materials provided by Mighty Quinn's.

The Norwalk restaurant will be Mighty Quinn's first location in Connecticut. The franchise currently operates a number of locations in New York and New Jersey, as well as a few in Maryland and Florida.

Speaking to Patch last month, Co-CEO Micha Magid said the Mighty Quinn's team has been interested in opening a Connecticut location since their pit master, Hugh Mangum, moved to Wilton a few years ago, where he opened the popular Rise Doughnut shop.

"We always had an eye on Connecticut, just being that we're kind of a New York and New Jersey-based brand," Magid said, "and it just aligned well with this location and Hugh being local to the area. We had a great landlord who wanted us to take over an old restaurant space and kind of reactivate it, so the stars just kind of aligned for us on this one."

The Norwalk restaurant is also planned to feature a number of specialty cocktails, including four different espresso martinis made with different alcohol bases.

"With many already familiar with our brand from visits to the city or neighboring locations, we couldn't be more thrilled to introduce Mighty Quinn's to Norwalk and extend our passion for elevated barbeque," Magid said in a statement sent to Patch this week.

The Norwalk location will also feature comfortable Hollywood booth seating, big-screen TVs and "The Game Pit" stocked with old-school arcades and shuffleboard.

"We've poured our hearts into making several enhancements to the space," Co-CEO Christos Gourmos said in a statement, "and creating a welcoming environment for neighborhood friends, families, visitors and the local workforce to enjoy great-tasting barbeque."

Norwalk customers will also be able to place orders for takeout through the Mighty Quinn’s mobile app, which can be freely downloaded, enabling guests to enjoy wood-smoked barbeque in the convenience of their own homes or workplaces.

Mighty Quinn's has also established partnerships with leading third-party online and mobile food-ordering delivery providers to provide customers with a hassle-free option for delivery, according to the company.
