Henry "Hank" P. Lenzycki, 88, WWII Veteran

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Monday, Oct 7, at St. Matthew Church, Norwalk.

Henry P. Lenzycki, 88 of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at Norwalk Hospital on October 4, 2013, after a brief illness. Born April 24, 1925 in Stamford, the youngest of 11 children, he was the son of the late Stanley and Theodora (Malanowski) Lenczycki.

Hank was predeceased by his wife Noreen and his daughter Donna Jean O'Reilly. He was a veteran of World War II. After serving in the Army, Hank had to choose between pursuing his passion by becoming a professional golfer or his education and raising a family. He attended Fordham University where he obtained his BA and MA in Psychology and was also captain of the golf team. 

After college Hank began a 50 year career with Dunlap & Associates as an Industrial Psychologist, retiring in the late 1990's. An avid golfer, he spent his retirement enjoying the game at either their winter home in Florida or at Oak Hills with his weekly foursome.  

Henry is survived by his daughter Debbie, son John and his wife Jennifer, son Paul and his wife Amanda, son-in-law Terry O'Reilly, grandchildren: Christopher and Kevin O'Reilly, grandson Gabriel Lenzycki and his wife Jaclynn and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Monday, Oct 7, at St. Matthew Church, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 8PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to: St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850.
