
June Carolin O’Shaughnessy, 89, of Norwalk and wife of the late Edward J. O’Shaughnessy, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Thursday, June 20.
June was born on December 15, 1923 in Oceanside, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Schilling and has lived locally for the past 65 years. She was the school librarian for Wolfpit Elementary School for many years and prior to that had worked at Rockefeller Center for NBC Radio. June was very active in St. Peter Lutheran Church and has been a member since moving with her husband to Norwalk. She volunteered for many years at the Norwalk Hospital and the American Red Cross. June also loved helping her husband Ed when he was in charge of the umpire crew in the Cranbury Little League. She was a people person and will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
Survivors include her son Patrick O’Shaughnessy and his wife Linda, her daughter Anne Beluk and her husband Paul and their children Ryan, Brenna and Meghan, all of Norwalk, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for June will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, 10:30 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Ave., Norwalk with Pastor Robert Beinke officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Norwalk. June’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Thursday, June 27, from 5-8 PM.
