Large Canopy Tips Over At Norwalk Gas Station: FD

Fire officials said a large canopy toppled over at a gas station in Norwalk, which could be seen on its side Tuesday morning.

NORWALK, CT — A large canopy on its side at a gas station in Norwalk was likely caused by severe weather Monday, according to fire officials.

The damaged canopy could be seen on its side Tuesday morning at a Sunoco gas station on Main Avenue near the Department of Motor Vehicles.

In an email to Patch, Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Adam Markowitz said the "canopy on its side" was reported Monday around 5:30 p.m. at the gas station.

According to Markowitz, the gas pumps had been closed for a while when the canopy toppled over and there was no gas inside them at the time.

As a result, no customers or employees were at the pumps when the canopy fell and no injuries were reported, Markowitz said.
