Longtime Family-Owned Jewelry Store To Close After 40 Years In Norwalk

An owner confirmed the family-run jewelry store will close after more than 40 years in Norwalk as the business shifts to online only.

NORWALK, CT — Family-owned jewelry store Kosta Jewelers is set to close early next year after decades in Norwalk as the business shifts to online sales only, according to the owner.

Nik Almirakis confirmed Friday afternoon the physical store, located in the city's Wall Street area, will officially close Feb. 28, 2026, with a closing sale planned to begin at the Norwalk store on Nov. 28.

Almirakis also noted he is currently in the process of renovating the store's website prior to sales moving exclusively online.

According to Almirakis, Kosta Jewelers has operated at 49 Wall Street since 1984.

"For over 40 years, our family has had the privilege of helping people celebrate life's most meaningful moments through fine jewelry," Almirakis said in a statement sent to Patch. "As a locally family-owned business, we've been more than just a store—we've been a part of our customers' lives through multiple generations."

Almirakis said the heart of his business has always been family, as well the families of its customers.

"While we're closing our physical doors, our commitment to care, quality and trust remains stronger than ever," Almirakis said. "We're honored to continue being part of your most cherished moments and look forward to helping you with all your jewelry needs for years to come."

According to the store's website, Kosta Jewelers offers a number of fine jewelry items for customers "that last a lifetime," including rings, necklaces, pendants, earrings, brooches and engagement rings.
