Norwalk BBQ Restaurant Closes Less Than 1 Year After Opening

The restaurant chain's co-CEO said the company has "decided to focus future expansion in other core markets outside of Connecticut."

NORWALK, CT — Mighty Quinn's BBQ, a popular franchise famous for its brisket and other classic barbecue items, recently closed its Norwalk restaurant and sole Connecticut location less than a year after opening.

The restaurant chain confirmed Tuesday the Norwalk location had closed, however an exact date for the closure was not specified.

"We have decided to focus future expansion in other core markets outside of Connecticut," Co-CEO Micha Magid said in an emailed statement to Patch. "We thank our guests and the local community for their past support."

The Norwalk location appeared closed during business hours Tuesday and doors to the restaurant, located on Merwin Street near The Waypointe complex, were locked.

Additionally, the Norwalk restaurant has been removed from the list of locations posted to the company's website and its Instagram page is no longer active. The restaurant is also listed as "permanently closed" on Google.

The closure comes less than nine months after the Norwalk restaurant first opened on Dec. 20 in the former Bobby Q's restaurant space.

While Mighty Quinn's typically operates fast casual-style restaurants, the Norwalk location was notably a full-service restaurant, complete with a wait staff and full bar that served craft cocktails.

The Norwalk restaurant also featured a game room and a sectioned off area for birthday parties and events.

Mighty Quinn's currently operates a number of restaurant locations in New York and New Jersey, as well as a couple in Maryland and Florida.
