Norwalk Bistro, Piano Bar Closes, Owners Offer Customers 'Heartfelt Goodbye'
The owners of 1920 Bar and Bistro and Hatter Piano Bar said the restaurant has closed "due to unavoidable personal circumstances."
NORWALK, CT — The owners of 1920 Bar and Bistro and Hatter Piano Bar announced earlier this month the restaurant has closed "due to unavoidable personal circumstances."
The closure was announced Feb. 3 on the restaurant's Facebook page in a message that offered customers a "heartfelt goodbye."
The restaurant's website also indicates 1920 Bar and Bistro and Hatter Piano Bar has closed its doors for good.

"It's with a really heavy heart that we've decided to close down 1920 Bar and Bistro and Hatter Piano Bar," the post reads. "This wasn't an easy decision, and one that was made after much thought and due to unavoidable personal circumstances."
Located on Wilton Avenue, the restaurant offered globally inspired new American cuisine and a wide variety of cocktails.

In addition to food and drinks, the restaurant also featured a wide variety of musical acts in its Hatter Piano Bar, with genres ranging from Latin jazz to late night blues.
"We've loved every moment, and the privilege of serving Norwalk," the post reads, "sharing meals, laughs and creating memories that we'll never forget. We're so thankful for all the support and the friendships that have formed within our walls."
1920 Bar and Bistro first opened on Wilton Avenue in a building that once housed a hat factory, as well as several previous restaurants, in December 2023.
The piano bar component opened in November 2024, according to the restaurant's Instagram.
In their goodbye message, the owners thanked their "amazing staff," as well as the "wonderful [Norwalk] community" for warmly embracing their establishment.
"Although we're turning the page on this chapter, the memories you have given us will last a lifetime," the post reads. "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
