Norwalk Driver Faces DWI Charge
New Canaan Police said the driver was initially stopped for speeding on Old Stamford Road.

NEW CANAAN, CT - A driver stopped for speeding has been charged with driving while intoxicated by New Canaan Police.
It was about 1:05 a.m. Saturday when an officer conducting speed enforcement on Old Stamford Road observed a northbound vehicle traveling at 50 mph in a posted 30 mph speed zone, according to a police report.
The officer stopped the driver who police said had the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her vehicle and on her breath, according to the police report.
The driver, identified as Peggy Feldt, 37, of 144 Main St., Norwalk, was on the DWI charge after performing field sobriety tests, according to the report.
Feldt consented to a chemical analysis of her blood alcohol content which registered a .164 BAC. Feldt also was ticketed for traveling unreasonably fast.
She was released after posting a $240 bond and given a March 24 court date.
