Norwalk Home Significantly Damaged By Fire: FD
Fire officials said a house in the Rowayton area of Norwalk was significantly damaged by a fire that broke out in the home's basement.
NORWALK, CT — A house in the Rowayton area of the city was significantly damaged by a fire that broke out Monday night in the home's basement, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.
In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Steve Shay said Norwalk and Rowayton firefighters were called to an Oakleigh Court home around 6:30 p.m.
According to Shay, the fire started in the basement and traveled up to the first floor of the house, causing significant fire damage, as well as smoke damage to the rest of the home.

No injuries were reported and all residents evacuated the house safely, according to Shay.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Shay said.
