Norwalk Man Hit By Car After Taking Child Off of School Bus

The driver reportedly passed the school bus, which was at a complete stop, according to police.

 

A 38 year-old man was hit by a car on West Rocks Road Thursday morning after taking his child off of a school bus, according to police.

The victim told police that as he was walking his child across the street, a car traveling on West Rocks Lane illegally went around the school bus, which was at a complete stop, to make right turn on to St. Mary's Lane. The victim was able to move his child out of the path of the vehicle, but was hit in the leg, police said. The vehicle stopped temporarily, according to police, but then drove off.

According to the victim and a witness, the car was reddish in color and the driver was an African-American women in her 50's, police said. The department is currently investigating the accident.
