Norwalk Police Release Crime Statistics For July 4 Holiday Weekend
Norwalk police have released the number of arrests, vehicle stops and other statistics for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

NORWALK, CT — Police have released the number of arrests, vehicle stops and other statistics for the Fourth of July holiday weekend in Norwalk.
In a Facebook post Monday, police said officers ensured the safety of the Norwalk community on land and water during the long holiday weekend.
"From increased motor vehicle enforcement and DUI arrests to emergency rescues on the water and assistance during local fireworks events," police said on Facebook, "the Norwalk Police Department was proactive and engaged throughout the long weekend."

The following statistics for July 3-6, 2025, were provided by the Norwalk Police Department:
- Patrol calls for service: 1,037
- Arrests: 19
- Motor vehicle stops: 143
- Citations: 209
- DUIs: 4
- Motor vehicle accidents: 31
- Marine Unit calls for service: 30
- Rescues: 7 people in two incidents
Police also noted they assisted in covering fireworks events in Norwalk and Rowayton, as well as Westport.

Police also recorded 10 boating violations resulting in two terminated voyages "for being over capacity and/or lacking safety requirements," according to the department.
