Open Door's interim director, Jeannette Archer-Simons sends thanks to shelter volunteers:
Our community is a special place because of amazing volunteers. Everyday there are slew of dedicated volunteers at our shelter that make it possible for people to get a box of food to supplement their home cabinets or who cook and help serve 500 meals a day or who help provide tutoring for children after school.
Whether it is a church group that commits to a day a week serving or a student group learning how to give back as a one time help or someone who stops in to help with breakfast at 5:30 in the morning because he is recognizes the importance of our work, before he goes to work every day, we could not help people without you.

On behalf of all nonprofits volunteer, thank you for the hours and hours you give to make our community a better place. On behalf of people we shelter, feed and help find jobs and permanent homes, thank you to our volunteers for your deep commitment to hope. Your spirit of giving inspires all of us to do more!
